Spring Flower Walks

Day 1 Arrive. We collect you from Granada or Malaga Airport. Spend the night in the Hotel Lanjarón.

Day 2
The village of Pampaneira is justifiably popular, and a great starting point for a walk in the beautiful poquiera valley. Cherry, apple and chestnut trees are likely to be in blossom, as well as spring flowers along the banks of the many streams which flow to the river below.

Day 3 We walk from Lanjarón, exploring the hillside above the town, with it's abundant water channels, which also provide a network of walkways. In the early summer the the fields are carpeted with flowers, and the scent of orange blossom is heady in the air.

Day 4
Ascent of Trevenque (2079m) from Collado Sevilla. A challenge, which many consider this to be the ‘jewel’ of the mountain summits.

Day 5 A well earned rest day. Either sample the Lanjarón spa or join us for an optional trip to Granada, taking in the Alhambra (small charge) and a short walk through the rocky gorge of Los Cahoros at Monachil (approx. 3 hours).

Day 6 Drive to the road head above Capileira, from where we explore the lower slopes of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. We look for early flowers, beginning to appear after the winter snows, as well as the many Ibex which roam these slopes.

Day 7 The village of Albuñuelas retains many of it's traditional ways, and this is the starting point for a pleasant stroll through orange, almond and olive groves. The rocky hillside is also home to a number of goat herds, whose antics offer an enjoyable diversion before exploring some of the more industrial heritage of the valley.
Day 8 Depart. We take you back to the airport.

We reserve the right to change this itinerary depending on the weather, snow conditions and needs of the group.
